Ambulatory Phlebectomy

An ambulatory phlebectomy is a procedure performed in an outpatient setting in which the physician uses small, slit-like incisions in the skin in order to remove superficial veins.

Patients are able to walk immediately after the procedure and continue with normal activities. It is necessary for patients to wear graduated compression stockings as directed by their physician. Wearing the compression stockings will help minimize any pain following the procedure. It is common for patients to experience temporary bruising and swelling in the area of the treatment. Pain is generally minimal as long as graduated compression stockings are worn.

Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation is a minimal invasive treatment used to treat varicose veins. (Ablation can be described as a physician using heat to create scar tissue by damaging tissue.) The scar tissue results in a closed vein.

Rather than laser energy, radio frequency energy is used to heat and damage the internal wall of a vein. This results in the closing off of the varicose vein in the leg. The radio frequency energy is guided through a small tube (also called catheter) that is inserted through a tiny vein incision.

VenaSeal™ closure system

The VenaSeal™ closure system is the only non-thermal, non-tumescent, non-sclerosant procedure approved for use in the U.S. that uses a specially formulated medical adhesive that closes the diseased vein. The VenaSeal™ closure system treats symptomatic venous reflux disease in the lower extremity superficial venous system, often the underlying cause of painful varicose veins. Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a non-invasive, outpatient procedure that treats spider veins and varicose veins using a mild chemical solution, known as a sclerosant. The providers at Vein Nevada use ultrasound to guide the injection.

Once the treatment area is cleansed and sterilized, the physician will inject the sclerosant into the targeted vein. For spider veins, the physician may treat vein which supplies blood to the visible branches, known as the feeder vein.
